Orrin’s Findings:

  2. Trace Wulgreth’s motivations and alliances since lichhood; anticipate protections at his lair.

Slaves & Dig Site

  • Lead: Red Wizards in Anauroch are forcing slaves to dig for an ancient artifact.
  • Saltare’s priority: Investigate dig site to confirm if his family is among the enslaved.
  • Route: The dig site lies in Anauroch; Hierophant Pheszelton’s forest (and Torji’s birthplace) is on the way.

Elven History & High Magic

  • Arranis’s research:
    • Teyxian/Flyridian school: sanitize history to avoid shame.
    • Masychossen/Orrygonian school: teach unblemished history to learn from mistakes.
    • Tall Trees library glosses over or omits details of High Magic and Netheril.
    • Elves divided:
    • Shame persists over elves teaching Netheril High Magic, which led to Karsus’s Folly and lich creation.
  • Lead: Rheitheillaethor (Wood Elf village near Dire Wood) preserves truer history of Eaerlann and may be a source of knowledge.

Hierophant Pheszelton

  • Next step: Use party’s new status as defenders of Tall Trees to gain council support and approach Pheszelton safely.
  • Reason: As an immortal, he may provide insight into Wulgreth, Karsus, Zar’thal, and the Eye.
  • Concerns: Approach carefully; avoid offending him.

Eye of Goram

  • Reminder: Confirm the party still has possession... and do something with it.
  • Threat: Rath Modar will likely continue to pursue it.
  • Tactic proposed: Send Rath Modar on a false trail — make it appear the Eye was sent elsewhere or to another plane.

Wulgreth (Lich Lord)

  • Status: Temporarily banished; will reform at his phylactery.
  • Concerns:
    • Did Wulgreth see the party directly? Unknown if he knows they hold the Eye.
    • His unusual alliance with other powers suggests he seeks knowledge or power beyond simple vengeance.
    • Destroying or locating his phylactery may be necessary to prevent his return.
  • Lore connections:
  • Tied to Karsus’s Folly and High Magic.
  • Possibly linked to Zar’thal (Karsus’s mentor).
  • His lair near the Dire Wood may connect to Netherese dig sites and cult activity.

Allies & Security

    • Concerns raised about their security after assassination attempts.
    • Garrick’s family safe in Waterdeep; his mother placed anonymously as a seamstress in the castle.

  • Revenue: ~30 gp/day, managed by Dashhir and Huthgar (taking 50%).
  • Player concern: Confirm current party funds; jewels and gear from past sessions need to be tallied.
