Monster of the Week

Monster of the Week is a fast‑paced roleplaying game where you take on the role of modern hunters facing down terrifying creatures and unraveling dark mysteries. Inspired by shows like SupernaturalThe Dresden Files, Buffy, and The X‑Files, each session feels like an episode of a monster‑hunting TV series. The rules are streamlined, focusing on bold choices, teamwork, and cinematic action instead of endless dice‑rolling. Together, you’ll save lives, uncover secrets, and decide what kind of mark your hunters leave on the world.

This is a game where your characters are the driving force of the story.

In Monster of the Week the story doesn’t come from a pre‑written adventure or a fixed plot—it comes from the hunters themselves. The Keeper sets up a monster and a situation, but what happens next is entirely shaped by your characters’ backstories, goals, and choices in play. Instead of following a scripted path like standard adventurer modules, the Keeper uses your decisions and character stories to weave a living, evolving narrative. Every mystery is just the spark; the real drama is how your hunter reacts, what risks they take, and what consequences they face.

With Monster of the Week - The Keeper’s job isn’t to force outcomes, but to react honestly to the character's actions and build the world around them. As a result, the spotlight is always on the hunters—your triumphs, your sacrifices, and your hard choices. The monsters, setting, and NPCs are important, but they’re really just the stage for the hunters to shine. This improvisational style makes the game feel immediate, personal, and unpredictable.

Monster of the Week is an easy to dive into game that helps players learn how to develop their characters. The system it runs on simple 2d6 + Attribute mechanic for any rolls that need to occur. This is a conversation-driven game, however, where the hunters and the keeper converse back and forth, and the rolls help determine how successful their attempts are.

The mystery may start the story, but the hunters are what make it unforgettable.

Session Zero System - For Diving Deeper

The Session Zero System is a collaborative framework designed to help players and GMs build stronger characters, richer stories, and a more unified campaign before the first dice are ever rolled. Instead of jumping straight into play, Session Zero gives the group space to talk through expectations, tone, and themes, while also weaving character backstories, goals, and relationships directly into the fabric of the world. Players don’t just create isolated heroes—they create characters who are connected to each other, to the setting, and to the story arcs that will unfold. It encourages players to think about motivations, flaws, and bonds, ensuring that every character has hooks the GM can use to drive the narrative forward. The result is a table where everyone is on the same page, invested in the stakes, and excited about the journey ahead. Whether you’re new to roleplaying or a veteran group, the Session Zero System helps transform character creation into a collaborative storytelling session, setting the stage for memorable adventures and meaningful choices.
